That’s where health coaching comes in. As your health coach, my goal is to work with you to create personalised, practical strategies that complement your medical care and empower you to take control of your health journey. Together, we’ll focus on sustainable solutions for managing symptoms and improving your overall wellbeing—body, mind, and lifestyle.

Health coaching is a collaborative, evidence-based approach that empowers you to take an active role in managing your chronic condition. By helping you gain the knowledge, skills, tools, and confidence you need, health coaching allows you to become an active participant in your care.

Working alongside your medical team, I provide practical support for symptom management, lifestyle changes, and emotional resilience.
The goal of health coaching is not just to manage symptoms but to improve your overall quality of life.

Health coaching has been shown to lead to better outcomes for individuals with long-term health conditions. It improves mental wellbeing, builds emotional resilience, and can even reduce hospital admissions by helping to manage conditions proactively. By focusing on the individual as a whole, health coaching provides more than just symptom management; it empowers you to live well, day to day, and achieve lasting results that fit seamlessly into your life.

While medical professionals focus on diagnosing and treating your condition, health coaching supports you in managing your symptoms and improving your daily life.

For example, your doctor might advise rest, but I’ll help you implement pacing strategies that work with your unique symptoms and lifestyle.

My role is to help you put those recommendations into practice, making it easier to stay consistent and achieve long-term results

Health coaching is distinct from therapy or counselling in that it focuses on actionable, practical strategies aimed at improving your health, wellbeing, and overall quality of life. While therapy is often centered around exploring emotional, psychological, or past experiences to address mental health challenges, health coaching is forward-focused, helping you make tangible lifestyle changes and empowering you to take control of your health.

As a  trauma-informed Health Coach, I approach our work together with sensitivity, recognising how past experiences and emotional challenges can impact your health journey. This ensures we can address any trauma-related issues that may come up in a supportive and safe space, fostering emotional resilience while working towards your health goals.

While therapy focuses on emotional healing, health coaching is about implementing practical steps to help you manage your condition, improve daily habits, and enhance overall wellbeing. My role is to guide you through these changes, ensuring they align with your goals, values, and needs for lasting transformation.

During our initial 90-minute consultation, you’ll have the chance to share your story from start to finish. Many clients find this process incredibly validating and healing, as it gives them a space to express their experiences and challenges fully. Together, we’ll explore your medical history, current symptoms, and lifestyle habits, and define your health goals. This session serves as the foundation for our work together, and it’s where we’ll start co-creating a personalised plan that aligns with your needs.

After the initial consultation, we’ll dive into separate, themed sessions depending on your unique needs. In these follow-ups, I’ll provide educational materials, resources, and tools tailored to your goals. We’ll collaborate on exercises and strategies to help you achieve lasting change, and we’ll co-create actionable steps that feel manageable and aligned with your values. My approach is deeply collaborative, I don’t tell you what to do; instead, I help you uncover your motivation and desire for positive change.

Together, we’ll work to ensure that you feel empowered and confident as you take the next steps on your health journey.

The length of your coaching depends on your unique goals and needs. For some, the initial assessment and medical summary may be enough to provide the validation and clarity needed to confidently self-manage and advocate for themselves.

However, many clients find that longer-term coaching provides deeper support and sustainable transformation. With ongoing coaching, we dive into tailored tools, frameworks, and education that help you tackle specific challenges and make lasting changes over time. This approach ensures you not only manage your condition effectively but thrive in the long term.

During our initial consultation, we’ll discuss your needs and create a coaching plan that best supports your goals, whether you’re looking for short-term guidance or a comprehensive, long-term solution.

Getting started is simple. Book a free discovery call to assess whether we’re a good fit. After that, we’ll schedule an initial consultation where we dive deeper into your health history and goals.

From there, we’ll co-create a health plan and set up a tailored coaching schedule to support you in achieving lasting results.

Currently, health coaching is not officially recognised by most insurance providers. However, the UKIHCA (UK Integrative Health Coaches Association) is actively campaigning to have health coaching recognised as a covered treatment.

In some cases, if a doctor has prescribed health coaching as part of your treatment plan, you may be able to claim back some costs from your insurance provider.

It’s important to check with your insurer, as coverage can vary depending on your plan and the provider.

I recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to inquire whether health coaching is covered under your policy if prescribed by a healthcare professional.
